RE: Aggression
Yes, you ever heard of a guy named Dan Harrington. He made the final table of the main event in 03, and 04. He is a known ultratight player, who can really play cards.

RE: Aggression
Dan Harrington is an ultratight player but when he gets a hand he plays it aggressively. However it is a good question which i have wondered about for sometime. I did once try an experiment playing ultra passive calling like a fish and trying to hit miracle hands and you know what i did not do any worse than normal, infact I made it in to the money nearly as frequently, although i did this experiment on the micro buyin tables just in case it went badly wrong. I did find that when you are in the money you have to become aggressive just to get a rewarding payout. I guess if you are going to measure poker success in the long term it is a negative approach compared to aggression.

RE: Aggression
i think Dan Harrington uses the fact that people see him as a tight player against them. A reraise from Dan Harrington means something, he is a master of the squeeze play.

RE: Aggression
I think you can be a good poker player if youre not aggressive.. but you'll never be great. Selective aggression will make you better than your average joe. But its tough to master.

RE: Aggression
i think if you do not demonstrate your aggression other players will attempt to run over you, i know i would. I hate to let people continually limp especially if i'm in late position. Your aggression has to tell a story and not be just for aggressions sake.
